# keyboard extension
Adds a keyboard interface to your (mobile) browser

# motivation

Most of time spent online is done via a browser. A physical keyboard is a great interface to navigate. If it is available it should be usable for that also, not solely to input text.

# installation

- install Firefox Nightly via e.g. Obtainium
- disable add-on signature enforcement by visiting about:config and setting xpinstall.signatures.required to false
- enable extension file installation by 5-time tapping on Firefox logo in the About section
- install the .xpi file

Some functionalities, e.g. adding to PIM, do require options to be set. Try the extension option page as there are no usable default settings.

# modify to add your own shortchuts

- git clone this repository
- modify kbd.js accordingly, e.g. add append a new key/action pairing to `userActions`
- run `./package_and_share` (comment out the kde send line if on mobile)
- install new .xpi file

To modify it is recommended to install Termux and your favorite code editor, e.g. Vim.
